Pierre Cardin Spring-Summer 2027: Fashion Sets Itself in Motion

With Pierre Cardin Spring-Summer 2027, the Maison puts forward a proposal that favors mobility over seasonal trends. Named "Prêt-à-Vivre" (Ready-to-Live), the collection conceived under the artistic direction of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin places the sporting spirit at the heart of a vocabulary that the brand has made its own territory for experimentation since its beginnings: movement, freedom, precision of line, and the optimism of form.

The runway show, presented on October 6 in Paris, did not seek a spectacular backdrop for its own sake. It took over an ice rink, turning the ice into a distinctly Cardin projection space: a clean, almost futuristic surface where clothing dialogues with speed, body control, and light. The track, choreographed by Olivia Candeloro, featured skaters Annette Dytrt, Sheryl Ovide-Étienne, Jiana Fortes, and Maya Candeloro. Philippe Candeloro appeared as a guest, accompanied notably by Yannick Bonheur, and freestylers Axel Girandier, Corentin Dieumegard, and Florian Dufrane. Footballer Wendie Renard and rugby player Antoine Zeghdar also walked the runway.

This setting accurately reveals the season's intention. The Pierre Cardin silhouette lightens without stripping back: it protects, wraps, and follows movement. Supple volumes, circles, curves, and contrasts compose a graphic language that is immediately identifiable, faithful to the avant-garde spirit that has always founded the house's vernacular. Here, ready-to-wear becomes ready-to-live: it accompanies an entire day, from urban attire to evening wear, without imposing a rupture between comfort and style.

The 59 models in the collection extend this idea of a wardrobe in use. Recycled fabrics and deadstock, sourced from the 1970s to the 2010s, bring heritage and the present closer together. This is not about adding a responsible note as an auxiliary argument, but rather embedding the material into the very history of the Maison: that of a fashion that envisions the future based on what already exists. The choice of the ice rink, linked by Pierre Cardin to his environmental commitments as much as to the elegance of skating, makes this pursuit concrete.

On the photographed silhouettes, sunglasses play a precise role. They are not a simple accessory added at the end of a look: they extend the verticals of the body, harden the contours, and give bold colors an almost cosmic allure. Worn with jumpsuits, capes, or graphic ensembles, they serve as a reminder that the Cardin imagination lies in this capacity to transform a function into a sign.

The music also contributes to this continuity. Jenn Ayache surprised the audience by revealing the first look designed by Pierre Cardin for her upcoming concerts. The original soundtrack, created by Daniele Martini in dialogue with the artistic direction, accompanied this encounter between stage, sport, and fashion.

Pierre Cardin does not seek to replay its futurism as an archive. This season, the Maison retains its active principle: designing clothes capable of responding to mobile lives, without losing the graphic strength that defines their presence. On the ice, the collection affirms that a silhouette can be protective, responsible, and spectacular all at once.
